Penang!

>> Sunday, December 19, 2010

Going to Penang tomorrow and of course i will be there with Wei Lian!

She will introduce me to a lot more great food.

Its been awhile since we get to see each other. Me with no more college life and needing to find work. i am really scared of unemployment. And also how Wei Lian and me are going to keep in touch with me not being in college any more.

Ahhh, the need to juggle many things at once. Well, worries aside for now. It is the end of the year and time to enjoy myself..

Guess a new chapter in life will start. Pressure is on.

Pasar Malam attack!

>> Tuesday, September 28, 2010

Wei Lian and i finally concluded one thing!
One that will affect the night time forever. (err, most probably not)
Setia Alam pasar malam is the best yet!

I brought her to Taman Sri Rampai pasar malam (it's on every Thursday) long time ago.
Well, it's history now but here's what i think me and the girlfriend would agree about:
- Long but too little space in between stalls. BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD, you get it.
- No Taiwanese Pizza. BAD (for me)
- Good ban chien kuih! ( i don't know any other language for it wtf)
- The main problem is the space. So narrow that it's hard to walk around when it gets crowded.

Few weeks ago, she suggested that we go to Cheras pasar malam (it's on every Wednesday)

Here's the verdict:

- Not as big as it seems but spacious, longer than Taman Sri Rampai's.
- Crepe!!
- More like a fashion stall pasar malam (for me again)
- Good chocolate bubble milk tea!

And last week was the Setia Alam's pasar malam (Klang) or the girlfriend's place!
Every Saturday, it's doors are open to you.
Too far? You judge! The verdict from me:

- Great pau, kaya pau that is!
- BIG and SPACIOUS! Longer than Rampai's one.
- and they have mook's pizza too! plus point!

Jeng! So overall??? Well, guess each of them have their own highs and lows. XD

Best game!

I am sure this applies everywhere for everyone. It is also particular for playing games. Hey, even the one in Facebook. Admit it, at one point, everyone does this.

Here’s the thing: there is one game where everyone does play. Your life.

You log in right after exiting the womb, fresh into the world at Level 1. It is up to you to level up by gaining experience. Sure, maybe you don’t get to pick all those cool names like D@rk Kn1ght or something else but hey, that’s your first obstacle.

Like any game, you start as a novice. Know nothing, no skills but basic ones and you need to go through many tutorials before you can actually play the real game. This “tutorials” are called your adolescent life. Rebel all you want but you are bound to these so-called tutorials.

Depending on situation, you end the tutorial earlier or later. After learning the control and action buttons, you are ready to journey into the unknown. (Remember, still Level 1 or in some cases where demonstration is needed, Level 2)

Here is where you need to train hard to level up. As you slowly learn to do something, you slowly gain experience. This is when a set of skills will be made available for you. I’ll call it “Life Skills”. Select the appropriate ones because this will stick with you forever. Remember, you only have enough slots to equip some of the skills. Choose wisely.

Getting familiar with your skills? Now you have to master it. Certain skills can branch into other better skills. In majority of the cases, you need to level up to obtain more skills. With the amount of skills you have and the level you are at, you can now choose a Job.

Let’s backtrack a bit. While leveling up, you will find friends. If there are enough friends, you can become a party. Hanging out with them, doing things together and learning new skills will make you level up faster. Just look out for those lazy asses. They will be a burden to you and might slow the party down.

At a certain point, you will start complaining that it is so hard to level up no matter how long it takes. That will definitely happen. It’s what you would face. The monsters are attacking and you have to fight back. What are these “Monsters” now? A lot. Maybe it can be a bad hair day or even getting in trouble with the school teachers. That’s hard? Wait until you meet the “Boss”! They can tear you apart and you might need to do it alone. The SPM can be the Boss or heck, even your rival.

Along the way, remember to pick up some quest. You learn more and if lucky, gain new items. Talking about items, how can you even forget to get better equipments and accessories? The clothes you wear and technologies you use can be the equipment! The more you level up, the better equipment you can have. That’s one thing, but how about the cost of the equipments? Really now, that’s just the beginning.

You haven’t been introduced to a guild yet! In other words, your company! You have to take tenacious guild quest whereby it will kill you if you do it alone! This is where teamwork with your guild members comes into play. The rewards are amazing and worth your time. Worth your time?? What about your friends in your friend list? What about the time for them? You cannot just commit to the guild alone!

This is just part of your game. What about finding love? Or even not finding love? What happens when someone pass away? There are more quests, side-quests and missions to complete. If you decide to give up, that’s all you have. The same level everyday. No progress and there is nowhere you can go.

So remember, your life is like a game. Give up and you go nowhere. Continue training and you can be at the top of the world. Remember, you can even be a Guild Master. Or even the best in your Job. Fight through the monsters to meet the boss. Defeat the boss and do it all again. There are no repetitive quests.

Do it with caution. Do it with courage. Whatever methods suit you. Never log out. This is YOUR game. And finally, good luck.

Internship

>> Monday, August 30, 2010

It's amazing how tough it was to cope in the Star.
All i want for the first few weeks was to run.

Yes, that's my desk, in front of R.AGE team.

Mainly, you know, office boy work and more.
Even Wei Lian was doing internship in a digital ad company. (#1 in Malaysia! Wow!)
The difference? She can write bodycopies for so many big companies.
What i envy the most is that she got a lot of work to do. (Shh, don't tell her that)

An errr.. overall view of 1/4 of the office?

Thankfully, after that, a series of events lead me to write a weekly movie review in StarTwo.
It's a section in StarTwo every Friday.
Eventhough it is a short article, it is worth the experience.
Watching movies for free and to be able to have lunch with Wei Lian.
Definitely cherry on top.

And although she said she didn't play a part for it, she did.
Imagine all the motivation and her listening to all my complaints.
i am just thankful she managed to talk me into working harder.

Best time was when i got my first byline!
Writing a review for Tekken, her favourite game (another cherry on top) XD

It had been a great experience and i really do hope that i can return to StarTwo.
I had quite a few review since.
Will definitely keep this experience in mind.

P.S. : When me and Wei Lian lepak in Borders Garden, this is what we saw that made us laugh (err.. definitely made me laugh harder)

Notice something different?
That was definitely a wtf moment!

The Germans came and gone!

>> Tuesday, May 4, 2010

Dang, been a long time since i updated my blog!
Hello again!! Anyway, recently a certain band came to Malaysia: Tokio Hotel.

And yes, thanks to Wei Lian and my fast response to a survey in Facebook, we got free tickets there.
The "magic" happen at 1 Utama, Park Avenue.
The crazier fan of theirs is obviously Wei Lian. *grumble broughthertoseeTomwhoIshouldbangwithGerry grumble*
Me? i am cool with it.

Arrived a wee bit late to collect the tickets and also to see the autograph session.
All this just to have a glimpse at Tokio Hotel.
It was crazy up there as we saw fans from Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore and who knows where else!

As you can see, they were preparing themselves to sign autographs.
i remember Wei Lian and me saw this girl with red colour highlights at her hair went twice to get autographs and both times security have to pull her down the stage.

All i know is i should have brought a board saying "Tom Kaulitz (guitarist) stole my girlfriend" and she added "put a sad emoticon there" wtf.

Later on when we were heading to find something to eat right after the autograph session ended, we were walking at a direction and notice a lot, i mean A LOT of people running towards the same direction.
We saw Tokio Hotel walking towards our direction.

Look at how close they were. My camera phone wasn't even zooming at them.
It was crazy out there when the people started pushing here and there.
The band were heading for the exit on that floor, and there was other crazy fans who tried another exit hoping to catch them wtf.

After all that, it was concert time!
We were in line for quite long but like over an hour before the concert starts.
Once they let us in, fans were running all over to get a good spot!
Even Wei Lian sprint towards the front to get a good spot.
Thank God we found one!

Jin from Hitz FM hosted the concert and was good at it.
Opening performance by Pop Shuvit.
They performed six songs just for an opening act wtf.

Pop Shuvit, up there looking fly and all wtf.

Next is Bunkface, now this is the opening act i don't mind.
Too bad when they were performing Through My Window, something went wrong with ALL the microphones.
The crowds were booing but manage to calm down when they performed Situasi.

Finally......

Tokio Hotel is in! After waiting like 30 to 45 minutes?
Pity the DJ having to entertain us all.
Once the band went on stage, i can see and hear how excited Wei Lian was wtf.
She was estatic! *grumble willtakeher3weekstorecoverfromallthis grumble*

i have to admit, Tokio Hotel was great performing live.
They did a lot of songs, definitely more than 10 songs, inclusing Pain of Love, Automatic and Monsoon.
Bill's voice is just great; and the twins, Bill and Tom, know how to drive the crowds.
i really did enjoy their concert.

That picture is for you Wei Lian!!

Anyway, it was definitely a great first concert for Wei Lian.
Even better for her, Tokio Hotel did two encores!
Her favourite band was here. :)
Good thing she didn't hitch a ride to German with them wtf.
Next time, i will get a chain to tie her up with me.

Real

>> Sunday, January 24, 2010

It's been a long time since i have updated my blog.
A lot of events, personal thoughts and relationship thoughts are going on and making me learn more things than i ever had.
i realized that everytime i blog, i would just let my emotions get the better of me and then not thinking of the consequences.
What i write now in my blog actually shapes other people's perception of me.
Sometimes others who don't know me personally will get the wrong impression of who i am and my relationship with other people.
Even worse, what i was going through, i express it so much and wrongly that it causes even more pain.

Looking at how my relationship works, at times people thought that me and my pet sis Agnes are an item. That is not true. We are just friends and will remain that way.
i do have a girlfriend for quite sometime and because of the wrong decision made by me, it hurt her a lot that i don't show her how much i appreciate her.
i always miss all of the small gestures to make her feel great and even this, i didn't even mention her for others to know. It's not to show off a trophy but instead to let people know that i truly like her.

It sucks to know that there are so many things that i still don't know and realizing that i am so naive in this world is very troublesome.
There are so many life experiences that i am gaining only now.
I am so thankful that my girlfriend is helping me with it.
With all the things that she had done for me, there is still so much more that i want to show her.

Me and Wei Lian might be still new out there but the things we had gone through is a lot and i can't let her show me all the ropes most of the time.
At least i need to show her i am capable of doing so much more.
There are so many things that had been shown and i think i need to take a lot more action and initiative.

Calv out.
